As modern vehicles move away from distributors and high-voltage spark plug leads, COP ignition systems connect the ignition coil directly to the spark plug. Without high-voltage leads, a dedicated COP probe is required to capture the secondary ignition waveform.
Unlike the TA204 BNC COP probe, the TA398 features an integrated connection lead, eliminating the need for a separate BNC-to-BNC cable (TA033).
The probe is equipped with a PicoBNC+ interface, allowing automatic probe recognition and configuration within the software. It requires a PicoScope oscilloscope with PicoBNC+ support, such as the 4225A or 4425A.
